1-ON-1 PRO TOOLS LESSONS

The Owner/Engineer of Overture Studios, "Kevin Cody" Offers 1-ON-1, Private Pro Tools Lessons via Remote Access over the Internet in Real Time.

FAQ: How much does this service cost? Only $30/hour.

FAQ: If I were to enroll in a typical school that taught Pro Tools how much would I pay per hour? On average, you would pay a little over $70/hour for pretty much the exact same curriculum that I teach. Not only will you pay well over 3 times as much, but you will be forced to learn in a group/classroom with no individualized attention/coaching.

FAQ: What is Remote Access? This real time application allows 2 people (Instructor & Student) to engage over the internet (PC or Mac) for training purposes. You don't need to install any software on your computer. I will simply give you a website where you can run a temporary application on your computer. I'll give you my ID and a password which will allow you to join a Remote Access Session with me. This application will allow you to see my computer screen (full view) with the Pro Tools Software installed on my computer. Both of us will have full control over our own keyboard and mouse which is perfect for 1-ON-1 training. In addition, this application also allows us to speak to each other so you won't have to tie up your phone line and/or use up your minutes. All you need is a microphone for your computer and a pair of speakers or headphones.

FAQ: What are the benefits of Remote Access Training vs. meeting in person? You will save a lot of money and time not haveing to travel to and from the instructor's place of business. Remote Access just makes this experience so much more convenient allowing you to learn in the privacy of your own home.

FAQ: I'm a little weary/apprehensive about paying for a service over the internet with a company that I'm not familiar with. How do I know I'm going to get what I pay for? Overture Studios (based in Atlanta, GA) has been in business for over 9 years now. Before you pay anything, please call me (Kevin Cody - OS Owner/Engineer & Your Personal Pro Tools Instructor: 404-437-7664). The first thing we'll do is set up a quick appointment for a free, live 15 minute tutorial on how our lessons will be administered. During this time we will engage in a 1-ON-1 Remote Access Session where we can get to know each other and discuss your goals and aspirations for music and/or video post production as they relate to Pro Tools. Also, at this time, if you have a web-camera, we can also launch a video web chat session.

FAQ: How are the lessons structured? I have a set curriculum for both beginner and intermediate users as seen below. The more you know, the faster weíll be able to move through the more elementary tasks and concepts. Starting from the ground up, at your own pace, is absolutely crucial to ensure that nothing importantant is skipped. Each lesson will take a different amount of time depending on your skill level. I charge by the hour, not my the lesson.

FAQ: Do I need to take notes? Taking notes will not be necessary as you will receive an email with all of the necessary notes as well as a word-for-word mp3 file of each lesson at the end of your training session. Note: Some lessons do not require notes, therefore you will not receive notes for every lesson.

FAQ: Does it matter what Platform, System and/or Software Version of Pro Tools I have? No, it doesn't matter whether you have Mac OS/Windows, HD/LE/M-Powered, or Version 5.x/6.x/7.x/8.x. My curriculum focuses on the beginner to intermediate user so the majority of the lessons will be universal no matter what kind of Pro Tools set up you have. For the most part, you really only start to notice differences at a more advance level. With that said, I will still focus on slightly tailoring the lessons depending on your particular Pro Tools setup.
